Maag - Michael Scott

After escaping from Ojai, Nicholas, Sophie, Josh and Scatty arrive in Paris. You come to town. Nicholas Flamel's hometown. But his return is anything but heartwarming. In Paris lives Niccolò Machiavelli, an immortal writer and renowned art collector who works for Dee. He's hot on Nicholas and Perenelle's heels, and they're running out of time. Each day spent without a book adds a year to their age: their magic weakens and their bodies become increasingly fragile. For Flamel, however, the prophecy becomes increasingly clear. The time has come for Sophie to learn another elemental magic. Fire magic.
Only one man can teach the girl: Flamel's former student Count Saint-Germain - alchemist, wizard and rock star.

Josh and Sophie Newman are humanity's only hope. Unless they turn on each other first.
