Heino Sõrm has been interested in medicinal plants since childhood. What distinguishes him from someone who is simply interested is that Heino Sõrm has stored all his knowledge and purposefully sought to add to it. For years, he has shared the knowledge he has gathered over his long life with the readers of Elukirja. The book "Health from Nature" collects the articles published by author Heino Sõrm in the magazine Elukirja over a period of six years on medicinal plants and herbal medicine.
"Health from Nature" does not only write about "recognized" medicinal plants growing in Estonia, such as yarrow or feverfew. In this book, you can find chapters on the medicinal properties of potatoes, pumpkin, cabbage, but also horse chestnut, and information about plants that do not grow in Estonian nature, but have nevertheless been known in Estonian homes for decades, such as aloe, paprika, lemon, as well as the "healing powers" of other frequently used food and flavoring plants.
Since not everything is useful for everyone, diseases in which the use of one or another medicinal plant is contraindicated are listed separately.
However, to get the most out of the medicinal properties of plants, the author has also included tips for making a decoction, infusion, and infusion in the introduction.
