Mänguväljak - Lars Kepler

While on a mission in Kosovo, Lieutenant Jasmin Pascal-Anderson is wounded. His heart stops and he is dead for one minute and forty seconds. When he wakes up, he is convinced that he knows what awaits people after death. He claims that they will arrive in a violent port city.

Doctors believe that Jasmin has post-traumatic stress disorder and is treated as a psychotic. As she recovers, she starts a new life and gives birth to a son, whom she names Dante. Five years later, they get into a car accident, where the son is seriously injured. In order to operate on him, the doctors have to stop his heart.

Jasmin realizes that Dante will not be able to return to life on his own if the port city really exists. He must follow his son there.

Jasmin knows that the afterlife is a very dangerous place, but the most dangerous is the playground.
