Vaatega tuba - Edward Morgan Forster

«A Room with a View» is the writer's third novel. The first part of the book takes place in Florence and the second in England. Young Lucy Honeychurch goes to Italy to visit her cousin Charlotte Bartless and meets two young men there, one of whom she is later to marry. Italy becomes a symbol of liberalism for the young girl, while good old England remains a nest of conservatism.

At the age of forty-five, Forster essentially stopped writing. With the support of friends, he became a successful BBC radio worker. Edward Forster lived with his mother until the end of his life and had a long and happy relationship with London police constable Bob Buckingham, in whose home he also said goodbye to life at the age of 91.
