Urmas Arumäe’s *Handbook of Family Business* (*Pereettevõtluse käsiraamat*) is the very first book on the subject of family business written in Estonia. The author is a skilled writer who effectively draws upon his extensive experience as a lawyer, lecturer, and entrepreneur. One might conclude from the book that those currently involved in family businesses have left it hopelessly late to plan for a generational transition. However, the book provides them with the necessary tools—without the need to reinvent the wheel—for organizing a family business, passing it on to the next generation, and addressing the challenges associated with these processes. Equally important is the approach to managing family dynamics and relationships in the context of the business. Another distinct merit of the work is the standardization of terminology and its consistent application throughout the book. Hopefully, these well-defined terms will also find their way into general usage.
