Kutsutud külalised - Lucy Foley

The best thriller of 2020 according to Goodreads users! The Bride ‧ Fifth Wheel ‧ The Husband ‧ The Wedding Planner ‧ The Bridesmaid ‧ The Corpse Guests gather on an island off the coast of Ireland to celebrate the marriage of two people. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising TV star. The bride: sharp and ambitious, a magazine publisher. It's a wedding fit for a magazine or a celebrity: a designer dress, a remote location, a luxurious party, a special craft whiskey. The mobile coverage may be choppy and the waves a little shaky, but everything is masterfully planned and executed just as masterfully. But no matter how perfect the plans, it doesn't change human nature. When the corks fly off the champagne bottles and the party begins, old grudges and petty jealousies begin to mix with the memories and good wishes and surface. The groom's buddies start a school-age drinking game. A bridesmaid ruins her dress, and it's not exactly an accident. The bride's longtime (male) friend ends up getting off with an unpleasantly intimate toast. And then one of them is found dead. Who among the guests didn't wish the happy couple well? And perhaps the more important question is: why? Lucy Foley studied English at Durham University and University College London and worked as a fiction editor for several years. Her real breakthrough among the top crime writers came in 2019 with the book "The Hunting Party" (in Estonian 2020).
