"The Wonderful Shepherd" is a collection of a dozen Indian fairy tales from a place called Vrindavan. The main character of the stories is Gopal, a shepherd boy with miraculous abilities, who secretly eats butter and plays flower ball with his friends. He fights terrifying demons, holds up a huge mountain and swallows a forest fire. Above all, he herds calves and cows, all of whom he knows by name.
