Now I am writing. Life's Workbook - Mart Kadastik

In the book "Now I'm Writing" by Mart Kadastik, one of the most influential journalists of the independence era and the long-time director of Postimees, four decades of Estonian journalism history unfold, centered on the construction of Estonia's largest newspaper Postimees and the largest media company Eesti Meedia. Personalities and ideas, hopes and disappointments, sincerity and hypocrisy collide and intertwine here.

"Now I'm Writing" is a timely document, but also a sensitive reflection on the nature of journalism and being a journalist. Kadastik brings to the public many things about the eternal struggle within and around the media, which we have known nothing about or very little about until now. And of course, many things about the people: colleagues, competitors, owners.

Former Edasi and Postimees journalist Tiit Pruuli has compared Mart Kadastik's life's work to building a church in the middle of a village. “The way Mart moved this church further and further into the center of the village, despite the circumstances, was a phenomenon in itself,” writes Pruuli. “Only Mart himself knows the price he had to pay for building a church for all of us.”
