Eesti ustest- sisse, välja

We are proud of the restored freedom and happy that there are no longer bars on the windows or padlocks on the doors of Estonia. Anyone who has the courage and enterprise can go. And anyone who considers this land their own and wants to tie their fate to this land can come back. Today, Estonians live in at least
124 foreign countries. This collection was born from the desire to understand what makes people leave Estonia and what brings them back home or prevents them from coming. The core of the collection is the personal stories collected within the framework of the President of the Republic's writing workshop "Estonian Doors - In, Out" held in 2011, where people talk about their relationship with Estonia. The collection also includes an overview of Estonians abroad compiled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The overview is based on the responses of Estonian consuls working in 34 countries. In addition, the collection contains articles and expert opinions that help to understand the extent of Estonian migration, the reasons for it, and the factors affecting migration. Happy thinking along!
