Tartu Rock! Tartu Rock! Ühe korvpallimeeskonna lugu

Top-level basketball has been played in Tartu for many years, the last fifteen years under the name Tartu Rock (Tartu University / Rock). This book is about those fifteen years.
A lot has happened in that time. This book goes through that time. How the Tartu basketball team rose to the top in Estonia again in 2000, how the team became the Rock, how they beat Tallinn clubs in the Estonian Championship finals and lost to them. How they reached Europe with their game. This book is full of games, some of which have raised the roof of the university sports building, and some that still gnaw at the souls of players and coaches today. This book tries to find that soul – both in wins and losses. By telling the story of one basketball team.
But this book is not just about the game of basketball. From the very beginning, Rock has been a team that revolves around life – this book also talks about fans, dancing girls, the Rock brand, the confrontation between Tartu and Tallinn, legionnaires and much more.
The book tells the following: what happened in the Tartu mayor's office on February 23, 2000; what Lithuanian basketball manager Ginas Rutkauskas said to Rock manager Tõnu Rüütel in the Kääriku sauna; how Lithuanian Augenijus Vaškys raised Tartu's young players; how much the basketball team pays and the players have been paid; how American J.S. Nash tried skiing in a training camp; how they still beat Perm Ural Great in the quarterfinals of the Euro Series; how Rock has had head coach changes and why one year the team was called Tartu University; how Giorgi Tsintsadze, Martin Müürsepp and Tanoka Beard joined the Tartu team; how Gert Kullamäe became a Tartu player and much more.
This is the story of the Tartu basketball team. The book tells the story of coaches, players, team support staff, club managers, fans ... This is the story of them all.
