A novel (1991) by the well-known Swedish contemporary writer Torgny Lindgren (b. 1938) about the relationship between life and art in today's perverted circle of human relationships.

The action takes place in the world of painting and pop music, where people who have committed themselves to art are sometimes lifted to heaven, sometimes thrown into the dust, against their will, and where everything seems to be buyable and sellable. In the end, the main characters, childhood friends Theodor and Paula, find an ingenious way to take revenge on the crazy world and those who ruined their lives with their own weapon and break free.
