Rail Baltic ehk Kelmitants vanaisa sarvedega

Vahur Afanasjev (1979–2021) was a poet and prose writer who entered the Estonian literary scene in the late 1990s as part of the Tartu NAK group—and remained a fixture thereafter. His body of work is joyfully restless and multifaceted, blending experimental sarcasm with a deep love for his home region. His magnum opus is arguably the 2017 family and revenge saga *Serafima ja Bogdan*—a novel as majestic as Lake Peipus, the setting in which the story unfolds. The book garnered significant attention and numerous awards, and was also adapted into a highly acclaimed stage production.
