Siinpool linnuteed. II osa - Heli Reichardt

The first part of Heli Reichardt’s book *Siinpool Linnuteed* (“On This Side of the Milky Way”) ended at the most suspenseful moment—literally with a bomb explosion. The second part of the novel explores what happens to the characters next, while also—as before—glancing back into the past. Human relationships, in all their complexity—with both their pain and their charm—remain central; however, questions of faith—or, in other words, a person’s relationship with God—come to the fore. In today’s Mammon-obsessed world, is there any place left for God or faith? Or must a person navigate a godless world entirely on their own? New characters also enter the narrative, offering yet another perspective on matters of faith: are so-called “sensitives” merely charlatans, or are they truly capable of helping people? The book encompasses life—specifically life in Estonia—in all its vibrant diversity, providing food for thought for anyone seeking to make sense of it all and to quell the wars that rage, first and foremost, within the individual.
