The author continues to tell the story of the main character Iia in a completely new and fateful situation for her. While the previous volumes were notable for their wide panorama, in this one the story concentrates more on the important characters. The fluent narration and the lively and interesting details make this book easily accessible to every reader.
Ervin Tiedeberg steps out of the café door onto the street and slowly looks around. He loves those slightly lazy and mild late summer or early autumn evenings, the darkness and street lamps, the ringing of tram bells, the rumble of cars and the aimless flow of people on the narrow and winding streets of the city center. And he loves to leave all this behind him step by step, as he limps up the hill along Komandand Street, or in undisturbed solitude heads through the cool undergrowth at the beginning of Nunna Street at the end of Pika Jala, he loves the steep climb of the Patkuli stairs and the modest flatness of the city's outskirts, he feels satisfaction looking down at the red brick roofs with whitewashed gable edges that have obediently stood in their place for centuries.
