Ristiratast - Henn Mikelsaar

A world located on and by the highway: full of junk and empty containers, packaging, endless cars, reeds, pine trees, wool heads and water. In this novel, however, the main characters no longer inhabit an emotionless everyday reality, but a world that is both funny and sad, real and unreal, truth and falsehood. Everything has taken on a new face thanks to the exceptionally tense linguistic text. «Ristiratast» won the 1998 novel competition and the novel shows Henn Mikelsaart as an author with an exceptionally strong imaginative power. The jury of the novel competition also highlighted his rich imagination and powerful expression, as well as the boundless power emanating from the text.
