Soviet Estonia: an encyclopedic reference work

The richly illustrated reference work comprehensively deals with the development, history, economy and culture of the Estonian SSR in a popular format. Special attention has been paid to the social restructuring that has taken place since the re-establishment of the Soviet system in 1940 and has profoundly changed the lives of the Estonian people.
The work consists of chapters introducing different areas of life, at the end of which there are short articles on the topic and a bibliography of the corresponding subject area. The final part of the book introduces the districts of the Estonian SSR and the larger and historically important cities. The following is a list of collectives and individuals who have received awards and honorary titles, as well as a register of individuals (also containing information on their years of life and field of activity) and collectives.
