What are modern things?
Every generation has its own opinion on this. A teenager who grew up in front of a computer, of course, thinks that nothing existed before him, or quite the opposite – that all the gadgets he uses every day have always existed, and wonders why his grandmother doesn't have them.
However, from this book we learn that some modern fashion items have their origins in the distant past, some even in antiquity (gym, water closet, popcorn), while some other things that have conquered the world are still quite young (snowboard, electric golf cart, Western bungee jumping, reality shows, etc.).
In any case, there are still surprises in this book.
