Michael, a successful young lawyer, is on his way to the top. In three years, he will be a partner in the firm. With his career at stake, he has no time for love or to notice the people around him. But then an unexpected event throws everything into disarray. A homeless war veteran takes several lawyers hostage, and although they all escape with their lives, the incident forces Michael to reflect on his own life. While investigating the background of the man who took the hostages, he discovers that his firm is embroiled in a dirty secret. Michael becomes a slum lawyer who advises the outcasts of society.
