I was born in 1963. When I think back to my childhood, I always remember the four-line verse my great-aunt Olga read to me:
The mouse jumped and the cat jumped,
The old bear beat the drum,
The flea out the window,
Leather pants on!
and I remember the bright mood I felt in her sunny room, where we beat the drum with the gray mouse, the furry cat and the old bear and looked at those white curtains with green dots, from between which the same flea in leather pants had just jumped out.
