Through such exasperation, the name of the medical doctor Professor Toomas Sulling reached the language editor of this book, who was a schoolboy in Võru County in the late 1970s, when Toomas Sulling was already doing great things in Tartu.

Toomas Sulling was talked about almost like Jaak Joala. They also have in common that both of their fame spread throughout the Soviet Union. Toomas Sulling wrote the first doctoral thesis in the Soviet Union on the topic of coronary angiography. Sulling's university classmate and colleague Jaak Maaroos says that Toomas Sulling is undoubtedly one of the most prominent and well-known medical scientists-surgeons in Estonia, who, thanks to his research and excellent treatment results, has received great recognition in numerous international forums and brought attention and fame to all of Estonian medicine.
Toomas Sulling is one of the founders of Estonian coronary surgery, who operated on 4,000 patients over the course of half a century, performing bypass surgery, i.e. replacing arteries damaged by atherosclerosis with new blood vessels. He performed about half of the operations on a working heart and half with artificial circulation, when the person's heart is stopped. The book discusses which method is better and when. It also discusses what the doctor sees when a person with heart disease comes to him. And what choices doctors have and what the patient should know. Toomas Sulling also writes about his path from a student at the Faculty of Medicine interested in surgery to a top surgeon in Estonia and what sometimes anecdotal obstacles he had to overcome along the way."
