When Elukiri began to be published in the fall of 1999, I took it as a fair decision of fate.
The ingratitude prevailing in Estonian society, the write-off of the older generation, hurt a lot. To the point of asking where you got the right to live in the Russian era. This attitude has not disappeared, but it is certainly no longer dominant.
The people I have written stories about in Elukiri have thought for themselves and accomplished quite a lot, no matter how tarred the roof was during their time.
